MySlim knows beauty inside and out; throws support for Ms. Earth Philippines

mySlim knows the science of beauty.

As one of the country’s safest and most trusted slimming products, mySlim believes in aiding a woman’s journey to beauty both inside and out. Infused with the powerful combination of Yerba Mate, Carnipure and Palatinose, which aids in developing a slim physique, while also keeping skin young looking and supple.

True to its brand, mySlim is proud to be part of this year’s search for the new Ms. Earth Philippines. The winning candidate will, of course, represent the Philippines as the country vies once again for the crown of Ms. Earth. A pageant unlike others, Ms. Earth has long stood out for using the platform of beauty pageant in advancing and putting emphasis on environmental issues.

We were lucky to be one of the media people invited by mySlim to meet 10 of the gorgeous women vying for the local title during a recent press presentation – and to get to hear the women talk about their advocacies, their thoughts on beauty and health, as well as their passion to advance their respective causes.

First – and it’s a given – the candidates were all gorgeous: long-limbed, svelte and sexy and rocking 5-inch heels while sashaying the run-way.

But more importantly, they are really smart: wielding day jobs as diverse as flight attendant, former Senate staff, teacher and even a medical physicist, among others. They are also very passionate about the environmental causes that they support, well-versed on their platform and knows the issues that they push inside and out.

The girls credit exercise, healthy diet and of course a boost of mySlim for their enviable figures. They are quick to admit that it’s not easy to maintain their curves, but thanks to mySlim, they are given that extra boost to stay healthy and beautiful at the same time.

That’s because mySlim is a beauty product that works in tandem with healthy lifestyle choices. It is made of all-natural ingredients – Yerba mate, known for reducing fat absorption and allows body to burn fat without shedding muscle mass; carnipure and palatinose serves  as a metabolic booster that helps boost energy and physical performance.

As mentioned by one of the girls, mySlim is for those who knew that beauty and a healthy body does not come easily; there are no quick fixes – you have to watch what you eat, you have to exercise, you have to sleep late and you have to maintain a positive disposition in life to be truly beautiful – inside and out.

The new Ms. Earth Philippines will be crowned on Saturday, July 15. Exuding confidence, intelligence and true beauty (both inside and out), I could very well said that any one of these Earth Warriors is truly deserving to take the crown.

Piolo leads call to “Go Well;” launches this year’s Sunpiology Sugar Wars

Piolo Pascual

Heartthrob Piolo Pascual is like a Pinoy Tony Stark – even without the “Crush Ng Bayan” tag which followed him all his life, Piolo is well-loved and known to his followers as a product endorser, as a savy businessman, a philanthropist and a budding athlete. This is aside from being a loving father, brother and son to his family.

For a few years already, Piolo has added another title to his already long multi-hypenates. Following his long-term partnership with leading financial services company, Sunlife. From espousing the values of saving up for the future, Piolo is also now the face of Sun Fit & Well, Sunlife’s foray to wellness products and its Wellness Advocacy component, Go Well

“SUN Fit and Well provides coverage for 114 critical illnesses and can help replace funds used for diagnostic procedures and check-ups. But more than a usual health insurance, it provides benefits to keep customers healthy and well. It is available in limited pay and Advantage variants, which includes hospitalization and follow-up care with a specialist,” explains Mylene Lopa, Sunlife Chief Marketing Officer.

It’s Wellness Advocacy Component, Go Well is a community with a website that provides nutrition tips, exercise ideas, and content about a more mindful life. But more than just an online community, Go Well members can enjoy discounts in partner establishments, as well as free access to regular community classes featuring the hottest fitness trends

The Go Well program introduced its various ambassadors, leading different aspects of wellness. These include Rovilson Fernandez for CrossFit, Bubbles Paraiso for Yoga, Tessa Prieto-Valdez for Yoga, Piolo Pascual for cycling/strength, Sunlife Health & Wellness Manager Jaymie Pizzaro for running and Inigo Pascual for the Youth.

“GoWell marks Sun Life’s entry into the wellness space,” according to Health and Wellness Manager Jaymie Pizzaro. “GoWell is envisioned to be a wellness community offering credible and relevant health and wellness information and high impact fitness events to help Filipinos live healthier, brighter lives.”

Go Well is available for Sunlife members and non-members. Those interested to live the healthy life can go to www.gowell.com.ph. Varying benefits are available depending on the coverage.

As someone who fiercely advocates wellness, Piolo is again lending his name to this year’s Sugar Wars Sunpiology Run happening on November 19, 3PM at Camp Aguinaldo, QC.

Aside from his Go Well co-ambassadors, Star Magic artists will also join the yearly run mixed with fun activities, through the leadership of the Run Rio team.

In spite the fact that there is a constant influx of new pretty boys, no one can deny that Piolo remains on top of the “hot guys meter” – add to this his acting mettle and his Well-loved personality and it’s common knowledge that he can still give any 20-something guy a run for their money.

Piolo credits his youthful look and energy (take note: he is nearing his 40s) to his dedication to living a healthy life. Unlike younger guys who strictly watch what they eat, Piolo believes in “eating what he wants” as long as there’s proper moderation and that he works out after.

He favors cycling now adays but during his early foray to fitness, he has trained with Well-known running guru Coach Rio. In fact, the two had an easy banter during the Q&A, with Piolo noting that it has been a long time winded their last run.

More than his drop-dead features, its the many facts of Piolo Pascual, the man, that will forever endear him to the public. After all, dor almost two decades in the industry , he remains our one and only “Papa P.”

Blogapalooza 2015: A first-time attendee’s favorite things

It’s only been only three months since I started making my blog public. Before, it was more of an online diary of my day-to-day observations and was solely for my consumption. Until one day, sorely missing my lifestyle reporter days and fed up with the usual corporate BS I had to deal with on a daily basis, I decided to make the blog public and position it as a place where brands get representation through clever lifestyle writing.

Since I am working full time as a Brand and PR head, my attendance to events is usually limited and dictated by my work hours. An event like Blogapalooza has made it easier and more convenient to me to meet new brands and get exposure as a blogger as well. As a “newbie” blogger,” I am grateful to the organizers for the chance to be included.

Aside from meeting brands, Blogapalooza is an opportunity to meet new friends and reconnect with fellow bloggers who have became good acquaintances and enjoy each other’s company. The event had the vibe of one big school fair for a tightly knit community.

Here are my favorite things during the Blogapalooza:

1. Meeting off-beat products and innovative ideas like  I Am Cardboard PH

Mike and Emil of I Am Cardboard PH

If there’s one thing to describe I Am Cardboard – the best I can come up with is that it’s “interesting.” Imagine getting the opportunity to access virtual reality by means of handheld cardboard devices. It’s a fun device which makes you lose track of time once you got your hands on one.

2. Knowing more about my health courtesy of Dr. Kong’s

I have long suspected that I am flat footed since I tend to stumble around a lot. I always credit this to being my usual clumsy self. A visit to Dr. Kong’s disputed one of these two things: that I am flat footed and confirmed that I am just clumsy. Based on the  study done on-site, I have a case of mild high arches of the feet. This causes imbalance and slight pain  during prolonged standing or walking. Dr. Kong offers shoes and shoe inserts that can support the feet. I loved the fact that Dr. Kong gave away discount cards which can be used when you purchase their shoes nationwide.

3. Yummy food courtesy of Manong’s Lechon Cebu and Bagwings courtesy of FoodPanda

lechon!

Who will say no to free Lechon, especially if it’s as juicy as the one offered by Manong’s Lechon Cebu? You can immediately sense that a Lechon was in the immediate vicinity after you’ve heard the familiar rhythm brought by a meat clever and paired it with the long line of people seen snaking in the area behind the stage. Owned by the friendly Roland Panares, the Lechon was a hit amongst the bloggers and as early as 11AM, many had already surreptitiously dropped by the booth excited to get a glimpse of the suckling pig.

The other long line that day was just outside venue and right by the food truck called BagWings. Brought by premier food delivery app Food Panda, BagWings offered food combinations that was a hit to the Blogapalooza crowd. The usual favorite was the crispy bagnet and buffalo wings combo with ordered backed up to a line that was more than 20 people deep. This nourishment for bloggers was courtesy of the people behind FoodPanda whose booth was one of the favorites that day. I am actually happy that I managed to download their app which comes handy whenever it’s crunch time in the office and people are desperate to order and eat.

4. Happily geeking out with the Gaming Library

I went to the Blogapalooza with my ever supportive hubby – and when I asked him which booth was his favorite, he immediately zeroed on the Gaming Library. Gaming Library displayed their board games on sale and even had a staff doing the demo on the store’s many titles at hand. Being geeks that we are, we immediately proceeded to try Halli Galli Extreme, a fun speed game. I look forward to dropping by Gaming Library’s gaming cafe located at Kapitolyo, Pasig one of these days.

5. Amazing interactive booths from Lactium whose Stress Test was on-point

The test offered by health supplement, Lactium only confirmed what is obvious considering my current lifestyle. I was given tips for weight management considering my struggles with my weight and was given samples of Lactium which aids in managing stress.
6. Meeting a lot of brands and knowing more about how businesses tick

Outbreak Manila
Breville

Victoria Court

Ace Water Spa

As someone whose day job is in Branding/PR, I am amazed and impressed how these businesses were able to approach and market their brands considering that Blogapalooza hosted about 800 bloggers writing across various styles (tech, lifestyle, mommy) that day.

The success of Blogapalooza shows an ever evolving medium of promoting and marketing products and services using the emerging clout of the online influencers. In my day job, it’s an interesting study and interesting experience that will help me a lot as I draw plans for marketing promotions initiatives next year. In my alternate life as a blogger, it is a very welcome opportunity to get my name out there and hopefully gain more name recall as I set out to make this site a more productive and helpful one to brands.

I hope that I will get to repeat the experience next year and my congratulations again to the team behind Blogapalooza. Their hard work and concern to the blogging community and their promotions of ethical and responsible new media is truly commendable.
