PR: FAT OUT: Clean up so you can lean up

Being clean extends not only to what’s outside but more importantly on what’s inside the body.
More taking a bath, brushing our teeth, brushing our hair and looking clean and looking clean and presentable at all times, being clean on the inside especially with our colon is very important.

While there are procedures done in health clinics and high end wellness spas that is aimed on cleaning out the body from the inside, there’s no doubt that these are expensive affairs that can be daunting for the average Pinoy.

A nice alternative is a health supplement by ATC called FatOut. FatOut through the revolutionary Sweep and Shred Formula which helps in cleansing your colon and trimming down your fat. Psyllium Husk sweeps and cleanses toxins in your colon while Green Tea Extract shreds and burns your fat. FatOut eliminates hard-to-digest fats and helps detoxify the colon. It nourishes the digestive system that can help in proper bowel movement and digestion. The sweep and Shred formula can help you lose the pounds without putting your health at risk.

With a healthy colon your digestive system allows you to easily pass undigested waste through your system which can result to having lesser risk of other digestive problems and disorder and also help in weight loss.
FatOut is not a medicinal drug and should not be used to treat the symptoms of any disease. FatOut should be taken daily, before every meal, preferably with a warm glass of water. It is available in all Mercury Drug stores and other leading drugstores nationwide for SRP P125.00 per capsule.

Succumbing to the allure of exploring on a fully-stuffed bag

The recent trip to Baguio with co-bloggers have rekindled my passion for the outdoors.

Everyone seems to love Baguio and subscribes to the romantic idea of Baguio of yester years – of pine trees, foggy skies, freezing temperatures and the rustic lodges with fireplaces and steaming hearth.

However, times pass and things change. Cities get developed and in the case of Baguio, the rustic appeal of the city has given way to modernization — Session Road is a little bit more crowded, people flock to Strawberry Farms like bee to honey and everyone just have to visit Pink Sisters to hear mass.

canto

In spite of these changes – Baguio remains a lovely place to spend the weekends. Buoyed by the knowledge that I will need to have warm clothes with you, I crammed a small weekend bag with four days worth of clothes, risking the chance of the poor bag bursting into seams. Like all eager traveler, I tend to over pack. In my case, it’s worst because I have a tendency to forego the luggage in exchange for an over packed duffel bag or a fully-stuffed backpack that makes me look like a long lost member of the Teenage Mutant  Ninja Turtles.

This tendency to over pack extends to wherever I may be. Whether in Baguio, in Boracay; in Busan or in Tokyo.

In one of my most memorable and most hated moment of my Busan trip, I remember emerging from the Busan subway station looking like a glorified porter: with a bursting backpack, pulling a small carry-on luggage while navigating the stairs with a heavy DSLR on my neck. Talk about looking haggard. I remember thinking then that whatever happened to my dreams of looking like a savvy traveler? The movie in my mind shows me emerging from the bullet train either with a classy one-piece luggage or looking like a world-weary traveler while holding the North Face Free Fall Backpack  in one hand and my passport in the other.

The North Face Free Fall Backpack

That miserable moment while in the Busan subway has made me vow never to bring more than one bag while traveling. Right now, I am using a really cute luggage that has become so worn out that it’s due already for replacement.

I am considering getting a pack from The North Face, a brand that has become very synonymous with traveling and exploration. This 40-year old brand has dedicated itself to providing the best and most appropriate apparel, equipment and accessories to any traveler – purely dedicating its brand to the beauty and allure of travel and exploration. I mean, its mantra is “Never Stop Exploring” — a testament to how this brand takes exploration very seriously. Known for producing backpacks that are great for heavy duty trips, this brand answers my need for a sturdy and reliable pack which can hold my clothes for the usual four day trips.

I am still looking on other models from the brand, but I am already set to start bringing backpacks instead of the usual luggage or overnight bags in all my trips.

What I love about The North Face bags is that aside from being stylish, they also take into consideration the need of the traveler – producing sturdy, durable backpacks without foregoing style. There is enough space to stuff my clothes and footwear without compromising the look and shape of the bag.

What’s even better is that The North Face bags and apparel are also now available for those who prefer shop online, other than the physical stores in the city.

GINGKO BILOBA: Brain food for the GirlBoss on the Go

Everyone aspires to me a multi-hypenate as it connotes success. For someone like me, who juggles my Branding & PR career, blogging and my artistic pursuits, aside from roles in my personal life, having too many things at the same time can add up.

In my job, I usually handle two to three projects all at the same time, other than PR campaigns and the like. My to do list will shame the most stressed OC. Usually, when you have too much in your plate – your brain tends to get a beating.

In my case, I rely on ATC’s Gingko Biloba to help maintain my brain’s health (and yes, even my sanity).

Studies say that the human brain is the most powerful machine in the human body. But machines, no matter how wired they are to handle too many things at once, can also take a beating. The same thing applies to the human brain. When you have too many things happening at the same time, you can’t afford to lose your vital mental capability. In my case, I need my memory to be always sharp and on point. I need to be able to remember timelines, project proposals, campaigns and even  blog posts due.

I rely on ATC Ginkgo Biloba to serve as my brain enhancer and to keep your memory sharp.

ATC Ginkgo Biloba is made of gingko biloba and maiden tree extracts. These two extracts are known to help sharpen the memory along with following a healthy diet and keeping your mind active.

Gingko Biloba is also helpful in regulating blood flow to the brain. Thus, lowering the possibility of having Stroke. It is also capable of protecting and healing damaged cells caused by medical conditions such as Alzheimer’s and Glaucoma. In addition, it can also alleviate mental depression and mood disorders.

For just SRP P6.00 per capsule, retain the power of your mind with ATC Gingko Biloba. ATC Ginkgo Biloba is available at Mercury Drug and other leading drugstores nationwide.

Horror movie scare fest with  Thrill’s “Thrill-O-Ween” this October  31

Halloween has always been a favorite holiday for me. I am not a big fan of Christmas but I get a sick pleasure out of Halloween.

When I was younger, my siblings and I get a kick out of building a fort out of pillows and blankets while watching Noli De Castro’s “Magandang Gabi Bayan All Saints Day special.” We will huddle under the blankets, sweating bullets while screaming our brains out for badly made-up white ladies and banshees.  It’s been a while since the last MGB Halloween special aired, and for the kids of the 90s, Halloweeen will never be the same without it – made up forts and bad make-up included.

Fortunately for fear fanatics who crave real terror, Thrill, Asia’s first and only movie channel dedicated 24/7 to the widely popular horror, thriller and suspense genres is offering Thrill-O-Ween this October 31

Thill-O-Ween! will cram in decades worth of Horror classics into a single whirlwind thrill-a-thon that starts at 1:10 am with the phenomenally successful and thoroughly terrifying supernatural thriller The Ring, followed by the equally horrifying Ring 2 later in the day. That in itself should be more than enough to stop you from even blinking at your TV for a very long time for fear lest Sadako come out of it.

To make sure that you have your fill of scary movies, Thrill will also air no less than three instalments of the Paranormal Activity franchise.

In between franchise instalments, Thrill will also air Shutter Island with  Leonardo DiCaprio and powerhouse cast that includes Mark Ruffalo, and Ben Kingsley.

Winding down the Thrill-O-Ween! will be the American take on phenomenally well received Korean Thriller, The Uninvited. And finally, to cap off the relentless barrage of titillating, terrifying, and thoroughly entertaining fare that is the Thrill-O-Ween!, we have the aptly titled Halloween Resurrection.

Thrill is available on (Skycable Ch.107, Cablelink Ch.201, Destiny Cable Ch.11 and Cignal Ch 69). For more information, you can log on to http://www.thrill-tv.com or http://www.facebook.com/WatchThrill.

So grab the popcorn, or the pillows and blankets, call your friends or significant others — after all, getting scared together is always the best.

Finding my weight with Reducin

My constant battles with my fluctuating weight has always been well documented on this site. There are many instances when I always end up ranting because I managed to gain back every pound that I lost.

When I had the opportunity to talk to a nutritionist, she mentioned that there are a lot of factors that often lead to weight gain. Aside from the food we eat and the lack of exercise, aging also plays a big role in our battle against the bulge.  When we age, our metabolism slows down. Behaviorally, our habits change as well. We become busier with various aspects in life. It doesn’t help that in my busy schedule, what is immediately accessible to eat are processed food and snacks that doesn’t do anything to help us lead healthier lives. My busy schedule also led to lack of sleep which also causes weight gain.

Suffice to say, I have tried everything just to properly manage my weight: I joined a fitness club, watched what I ate and even tried running (much to discomfort of my weak knees). The only thing that I didn’t try because I didn’t like the icky feeling that came with it is to drink weight supplements. One particular product which others swore by was known to lead to frequent trips to the bathroom and even-God forbid-embarrassing incidents in the middle of the day. I don’t want that inconvenience and discomfort. I wanted something that will help me manage my eating without the hassle of frequent and messy bathroom trips.

So I was pleasantly surprised when I tried ATC’s   Reducin, an anti-obesity food supplement.

my weight management partner

I have been drinking Reducin for almost a month already and I can say that I am happy with the results.

A capsule of Reducin contains 120 mg of Orlistat. It is a gastric and pancreatic lipase inhibitor for obesity management.

Reducing works by preventing some of the fat in foods eaten from being absorbed in the intestines. Then, excreting these fat through bowel movement. Along with a low-calorie diet and proper exercise, Reducin can help you get back on track and lose those extra pounds. Break free from obesity, diabetes, triglycerides, cholesterol, other health risks and their associated high costs.
Reducin should be taken 3 times a day before every meal. If a meal is missed or contains minimal or no fat, the dose should be omitted. Reducin is P29.50 per capsule. Available at Mercury Drug and other leading drugstores nationwide.

Am I happy with Reducin? This is a definite yes. Aside from the consumer-friendly price point, I love that Reducin fits perfectly in my busy lifestyle. I bring my dosage with my everyday and take it before I eat without worrying of the possible embarrassment of frequent bathroom breaks.

To properly account for my weight management, I also started seeing an endocrinologist with the hopes understanding my body more.

Reducin, like all other health supplements, is there to aid me in my weight loss journey – however, it is still important to understand your body and couple supplement-taking with proper diet and exercise.

This post is part of a current ATC campaign. However, I am really a Reducin-taker and I really love the product. This is not a paid post

Minoxidil Regroe: 28 years of hair

When I was in college, I had a very dear friend whose claim to fame is having the consistency and hair style of a 63 year old retiree.

While I love this man to pieces and continues to be one of the best persons around, his lack of hair has become his most defining factor. He is kind, responsible and a really funny guy, but girls he tend to fancy usually look first on his thinning hair before looking on the roses (or food) he offered. The fact that he is a funny person and does not have the hang up of a vain metrosexual didn’t help. His hair – usually composed of limited thin strands clumped together like orphans – would remain the subject of conversation even years after university. One time, his work allowed him to be seen on TV… Guess how we recognized it was him?  Yup, through the shiny, bald pate peeking under a thin blanket of hair.

Premature baldness is something that guys usually experience and can be a killer when it comes to getting the girls. My friend is lucky because he didn’t let his hair (or lack there of) define who he is. He is now a dedicated public servant, a good family man and continues to be a good friend.

For those with no recourse but to resort to hair thickening supplements, Minoxidil Regroe has become a friend for the last 28 years. Now on its 28th year, the premiere hair supplement is celebrating with a bang through an online campaign starting Oct 5.

Review: The New Alcatel Flash2 – A budding photographer’s dream phone

Alcatel Flash 2 : Impressive specs made available in a consumer-friendly price

The advent of smart phones has changed the way people do photography. Before, those with the love of visual images had to contend with the use of professional cameras and even the basic point-and-shoot.

Nowadays, smart phones has gone beyond the requisite text and call; they are now little wonder devices where you can search the web, write a blog (similar to what I am doing now), take great pictures, take care of your financial transactions and yes- place a call or send an SMS message.

Of course, this comes with a steep price tag. However, Alcatel (among other brands) has given consumers a taste of the best smartphones features at a much affordable price point. The latest release from the brand, the Alcatel Flash 2, is a smart phone that will surely delight photography enthusiasts and young selfie addicts alike.

One of the first things you’ll notice is the sleek packaging. Alcatel veers away from the typical rectangle box by offering a unique pull out box from an outer packaging rendered in white where the apple green box containing the device and its accessories easily slides out.

Aside from the phone, charger and connector, Alcatel also provided a leather case and a tempered glass screen protector as part of the package – making the Flash 2 a definite bang for your buck.

I am not a tech writer so I will try to describe the Flash2 using simpler terms. Here are the positives:

  •  Easy log in and log off through the power button located at the upper right side of the device
  • An attractive hardware  – sleekly designed and with good finish. For a phone with a low price point, Alcatel Flash 2 definitely doesn’t look cheap!
  • Vibrant colors on screen
  • 13 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash – nice, crisp color resolutions that makes every image stand out!
  • Front facing 5 megapixel camera with LED flash. As expected with lifestyle bloggers, we tried the front facing camera with a series of “groufies” and is immediately wowed with the quality of the photos.
  • Did I mention the sleek and high-quality packaging?
  • Option for Dual sim
  • 3,000mAh non-removable battery

I know it’s faux leather but I find the casing too simple and basic — maybe because I was comparing it to sleeker leather cases available on the outside.

Would I recommend the Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2? Definitely! It’s a good smart phone, with nice camera and really good specifications. The Flash2 is perfect for those who want their own smart phones without selling their kidneys to the black market. It’s not surprising therefore that the Flash2 continues to be a top seller at Lazada and in fact has sold out in 30 minutes upon announcement of the sale.
