Yes, I haven’t gotten over my current hipster obsession.
They of the wide, black-rimmed glasses, of the corduroy and gentleman’s hat, of the emo, counter-culture persuasion. So intriguing and different. Well, in my part of the world it’s still different — since my fellow Pinoy yuppies are still stuck in the Valley Girl and Cutie-Kawaii-Kpop fashion persuasion.

For your reference, the Urban Dictionary defines “hipsters” as a subculture of men and women typically in their 20’s and 30’s that value independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics, an appreciation of art and indie-rock, creativity, intelligence, and witty banter…Although “hipsterism” is really a state of mind,it is also often intertwined with distinct fashion sensibilities. Hipsters reject the culturally-ignorant attitudes of mainstream consumers, and are often be seen wearing vintage and thrift store inspired fashions, tight-fitting jeans, old-school sneakers, and sometimes thick rimmed glasses.
In short, they’re the types who usually find a way to get your attention with their mysterious, intellectual charms. In KamikazeeGirl speak, “exactly my type of guy.”
To fuel this new interest, I bought these new Oxfords from VNC, on sale at 50% off. It was love at first sight and I simply had to have it.

Got this for just PHP680.00 and can be easily considered one of the best buys during the holidays. Planning on wearing this tomorrow with my Forever 21+ jeans (cuffs slightly folded carelessly), a nice V-neck shirt plus my gentleman’s hat, with wide-rimmed glasses to finish off the look.
I love the detail and the old world appeal, like as if it’s a shoe that my grandpa will wear. The only problem with this pair is that the bottom is too shiny, often leading me to slip while walking. Hence, I walk slowly and deliberately as if saddled with a problem whenever I have these pair on.
Cool and dangerous…just exactly the kind of thing you need to break the monotomy of the daily grind.
