I don’t know if I mentioned this before, or if it was obvious based on the comics I usually post in this blog, but I am a VERY BIG Superman fan. I managed to get into fights in grade school because of Superman; grew up in-love with Christopher Reeve and actually shed a tear while watching Brandon Routh’s Superman upon hearing the first strains of the Superman theme play.
So, you can just imagine my excitement upon seeing this:
I’ll reserve my comments when I finally get to see the movie (!!!) But I am already getting goosebumps just thinking of how cool the trailer was. I liked that it touched on Superman’s back story growing up. Save for Smallville and the latest installment of Superman Earth One: Volume 2 — there’s not much material on Clark Kent’s life in Smallville and on how he came to terms with his powers and the responsibilities that came with it.
Henry Cavill as Superman is already arresting and filled out nicely the blue tights and red cape. I like that the costume has a deeper hue and more gritty, not cartoonish (no more briefs over pants joke here). Honestly, I am very excited seeing this reimagining and rebirth of a beloved childhood hero.
