Pop that collar!

Remember when guys used to wear the collars of their Lacoste shirts up and think that they reeked coolness?

In Manila, there was a time when you could gauge if the guy you see with his collar popped is also a certified douchebag. Fortunately, that phase faded on into the sunset, along with caps worn side-ways and the ugly chains dangling on their pants (the chains were used to ensure that their wallets won’t be filched by thieves).

Well, I never thought I’d go crazy over collars, not until I saw this in one of the issues of Vivi Magazine in Japan:

I have this exact issue of Vivi, with the adorable Lena Fuji in the cover, but unfortunately, my magazine did not came with the collar. In fact, I got the magazine already opened and without the freebie inside. I was tempted to go all bat shit with the seller, but then again, it was just a favor that I was able to purchase that issue through my Pinoy network in Japan.

Anyway, months passed by and I can’t seem to get over the collar phase. Unfortunately, I don’t know that many online sellers that I have even begun to contemplate making them myself. After all, how hard is it to make a collar right?

Fortunately, I was able to pass by the Landmark Department store yesterday and saw this on the accessory display:

The collar necklace was sold at PHP149.00 while the long one, with many pendants went for as little as PHP179.00. Less than four hundred bucks for really nice additions to my accessory collection.

Here are the details up close:

The attention to detail is flawless!

Wore the collar with a polka-dotted dress, wedge heels and chunky rings earlier. Sorry I forgot to take a picture. I came home at 11PM from a PR brainstorming which started at 6:30PM. I was too tired.

Anyway, I am looking for spiffy, formal-looking ones. Something like this:

I really don’t know where to look. Thinking of making my own collar — after all, there’s a lot of DIY online.
