Lazy day brunch (Day 07/ 07 January 2012/ Project 365)

yum.

Today is a very lazy, unproductive day.
Woke up ten-ish only to lounge again in bed while trying to control my worsening cough and cold. Watched the telly, took my meds and the requisite daily dose of vitamin C, played with Sayuri, switched channels, decided to go against my Snake Phobia and watched “Python Hunters” over at National Geo (or is at Discovery?), watched Pawn Stars reruns at History Channel, smelled dad’s cooking from the misery of my bed room, drank water then decided to go down the kitchen to eat brunch.

Brunch is the picture above — a Filipino dish called “Pochero” (probably an off-shoot of 300plus years of Spanish rule in good old PH), which I paired with crackers. Pochero is a pork and chicken dish cooked in a stew made up of tomato paste and pork & beans, plus veggies. (Pardon my description, that’s why I don’t blog about food). As usual, it’s yummy. After all, it’s made by the best cook in the world, my dad 🙂

I consumed this in the safety and comfort of my bed while watching various programs at History Channel.

Yeah, paired it with crackers instead of rice. Again, part of my quest to lose the extra poundage and look healthy again. I really have to wean myself away from rice, no matter how heavenly they maybe when eaten with a really good viand. I did this before–stopped eating rice for two months until I noticed that my comprehension and decision-making skills were starting to get a bit slow for my liking.

Spent the whole day curled up in bed, perhaps making up for the crazy times I spent at the Grindhouse writing reports and plotting PR strategies for 2012. Sometimes, it’s refreshing to be lazy once in a while.

  1. This post caught my attention. Despite my best intention to turn this day into a productive one, I just couldn’t bring myself to it. I wanted take my time today. Just having a lazy day as well. Love the weekends 🙂
