The song that made the day O.K.

This song was on full-repeat mode (in my head and in my screen) all through out the day:

Influenced, no doubt by this super fab, super chica rendition from last Wednesday’s “Never Been Kissed” episode of Glee.

I guess by now, the Gleeks have known the full 411 on Darren Criss, the super adorable guy who plays Blaine in the show. For non-Gleeks out there, Blaine is the projected mentor/future love interest for Kurt Hammel, New Direction’s resident diva and the only “outed” gay in William McKinley High.

If Darren Criss is familiar to some of you, you might remember him from this amazing fan-made musical called “A Very Potter Musical”, which he starred together with his theater group, The Starkids. Criss portrays Harry Potter with such aplomb, plus the lines and the songs are freaking awesome. He also wrote almost half of the songs on the same musical which has gotten cult status over the internet. Unlike his character Blaine, Darren is very much straight. (Though truth is: even if he is gay, it doesn’t really matter and he is still adorable).

Anyway, back to the song at hand: “Teenage Dream” is the kind of song that makes you forget that the day actually sucks and that the universe is conspiring to reduce you to madness. Did you ever had that kind of day? The kind where you want to strangle people at random and just want to shut yourself in a self-made bubble of nonchalance. Today is that kind of day for me. The fact also that my nose hurts like hell due to a bad case of colds (yes, again) didn’t make things easy for me.

So, anyway, as soon as I got home, I holed myself into the little piece of “heaven” I share with The Hubby (who is on night shift today) and just played the Glee version out loud. On repeat. Drowning the noise and the worries of the world, including the parental units who at their age (55! 60!) were at each others’ throats again arguing over a shitty thing which I don’t care to acknowledge (tried to shut them up once, but I feel weird policing my own parents).

And so, I sing:

“Let’s go all the way tonight
No regrets, just love
We can dance until we die
You and I
We’ll be young forever…”
