Good news to Japanese movie buffs like me.
It’s the time of the year for Nihon Eiga Sai, the Japanese Film Festival as part of the Japan-Philippines Friendship Month 2010.
Friends know that I watch Japanese movies more than I watch American or Filipino movies. I even know more about their actors than the one we have here in the country. So in short, I am one of those annoying people who make chismis about completely un-heard of actors just cause I know them.
Anyway, I am excited for this event, since the feature film is Always Sunset on Third Street 2 (Always zoku San-chome no yuhi, 2007) which stars one of my favorite actress, Horikita Maki (Hanazakarino Kimitachi E, Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac). The by-invitation only screening is today, Thursday July 1 and since I have work, I have no choice but to catch it on a regular screening.
Must find a movie buddy for this, don’t worry–the movies are all subtitled! (ehem, Fizzy…this is your cue to say “yes!”)
